Texted the owner to fix it—caught him in multiple lies (documented)—but he blamed us for driving the truck, though they packed it. I paid in full and tipped two movers out of pity for working in brutal heat, not satisfaction, yet he flung that back as ‘proof’ I was happy. No signed contract or written agreement provided—nothing to secure their responsibility or protect me as a customer. Worst part? He sold me on trust, claiming shared Christian values, then mocked my faith when I complained. In this Bible Belt community, that’s a low, uncalled-for blow. No accountability, just excuses. However, our concerns weren’t addressed, which delayed further action. The review was posted 7 months later (not nine) because, after unsuccessful resolution attempts, I wanted to help others avoid similar issues. *Lack of a Signed Contract: As mentioned in my review, no signed contract was provided. A contract could have specified responsibilities like shrink-wrapping furniture for protection—which wasn’t done. *The Unloading in FL. I trusted that my items had been packed securely. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced, as the damages became evident afterward. *Payment and Tips: I paid in full and tipped 2 of your movers, the tips were given out of sympathy in brutal heat, not as a sign of satisfaction with the job. *Addressing Inaccuracies in Your Statement: *Regarding the Trailer and Fees: You stated about renting a trailer, that I mentioned being tight on money, and that I asked if your team could load it without additional fees, which you stated that you agreed to do. This isn’t accurate. Here’s what occurred: We originally rented an 8-ft trailer. You, the owner, advised us that our items wouldn’t fit and recommended upgrading to a 12-ft trailer, which we did. I never said we were tight on money or requested free loading. On the contrary, you charged an additional $300 for loading the 12-ft trailer, which wasn’t disclosed until after the truck and trailer were loaded. This lack of transparency reinforces why I highlighted the absence of a signed contract. My original quote was $780 (flat rate), $100 extra for 4/5 movers, and $200 to load a 8-ft trailer, totaling $1,080. However, I was charged $1,380, that includes the extra $300 for the 12-ft trailer. Additionally, despite paying $100 for 4 movers, only 2 movers were present for most of the move. *Regarding the Timeline and Location: You claimed I waited over a month to report damages after moving. This is incorrect: It was a period of 24 days, not over a month. I’m disabled, and my husband’s work schedule delayed our ability to unpack and fully assess the damages. *Regarding Photos of Damages: You stated that you asked if I took pictures of damaged items before unloading and that I said no, I didn’t think to do so. This isn’t accurate: In our text messages (which I have as proof) I did not respond to your text about photos. I do have photos of the damages taken after unloading,. *My Moving Experience: I’ve completed several long-distance moves using trucks and trailers, and I’ve never encountered this level of damage or difficulty resolving issues. This suggests the damages likely stem from how the items were packed and secured, not the transport itself."
