"Tony and his crew moved me from Cincinnati to Richmond, VA and I couldn't have had a better experience. Tony came out to give me a free in-home estimate and was super easy to work with to schedule my pick-up and drop-off dates. His guys were fast and efficient both loading and unloading and all my belongings were handled with care. I have several pieces of antique furniture, all of which arrived without a scratch. Even my old, flimsy, press board shelves arrived intact (I honestly didn't think they'd survive another move, but they live to see another day!). Moving is stressful (especially long distance moves), but knowing your belongings are going to be taken care of and arrive when they're supposed to makes the whole process much easier. Truly cannot recommend Smooth Move enough!!"
"I started my search for a moving company through friends and family but none have had a move experience in many years. So, I turned to Google, which is craziness at best. The reviews are all over the place and so many companies to choose from. I narrowed the search to three companies, and based on price, they were all very similar. Tony with Smooth Move was the only one willing to accommodate our need for day after Thanksgiving, so this was a plus, Tony ( the owner) was very responsive for calls and texts, and he was very clear on the expectations for the move. Based on our move inventory, he recommended a 4 or 6 man crew with the cost difference and estimated hours to move with either choice. We settled on a 5 man crew with one truck. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the move experience. We had never used a moving company before, and I had expected all types of issues based on reviews of ALL moving companies and horror stories from other people. Tony and his team did a fabulous job. We highly recommend Smooth Move."

"Three weeks later I have now received a call from Tony FINALLY. The only reason he decided to respond to me is because I guess he went online and saw my negative review. He basically told me as a customer I should have been watching their every move and making sure they were doing there job right if I didn't want my property destroyed. STEER CLEAR!!!! Warn family and friends. It takes years and a lot of money to buy nice items for your home and these people will destroy your pieces within hours literally!!!"
"We used this company to move across town and had a very poor experience. They did not pack the truck to the ceiling - there were several feet of head space all the way through - and as a result, they could not fit everything in. We were left with several car loads in our garage to go back for. They also charged me more than agreed for a piano move, even though we'd discussed all the particulars of the route out of the house when I booked service. Finally, we discovered after they left that pieces of the steps up to the front door were torn off, several pieces of furniture were nicked, and they left deep scratches in railings at the house we left and the house we moved to. I contacted Tony, the owner, about these issues and received no response. Very upset and would not recommend."

"DO NOT HIRE THESE MOVERS: 1) although our move was scheduled far in advance and confirmed the night before, they were 4 hours late on our moving day. Tony lied & said it was because the truck broke down, but one of the movers said that Tony 'fibs a lot', and that he'd actually double booked them that morning. 2) they sent a nimrod, inexperienced team of movers, that spent way over 45 minutes just trying to figure out how to configure the items in the truck. the crew did not get everything on the truck, so now I have to figure out how to haul what they left behind to my new place. 3) the movers came without dollies or straps. they were unprepared and inexperienced. 4) moving from a 2BR apt to a 2BR house took from 1:30pm - 7:30pm. The crew was rude and unprofessional. It took them 1.5 hours to get from Florence to Fairfax. They said they stopped for something to drink. When I called Tony to discuss my concerns, I got nothing but excuse-making and more rudeness. He was a total ass about it all. Do yourself a HUGE favor - their seemingly low prices are not worth the hassle that they cause on moving day. 'A Smooth Move' will make your move a total nightmare."
