"I recently had a very disappointing experience with Family Movers. Please be wary of their pricing practices. My contract explicitly stated a rate of $115 per hour per mover, yet I was charged $130 per hour per mover. When I discussed this discrepancy with Aaron from Family Movers Express, he claimed this was an old contract and I agreed to a higher rate. Regardless, I signed a legally binding contract at $115 per hour and was charged $130. Additionally, the quality of service was far below expectations. The movers, one of whom was named Tony, were incredibly slow, seemingly prolonging the job deliberately. Despite their task of handling larger items, I found myself doing significantly more work. Their sluggish pace seemed strategically aimed at inflating the bill by an additional $451 on top of the $130 I spent to "reserve" their company, compounded by having to endure constant complaining about the work--work they were specifically hired to perform. To make it simple, they had to move me less than 1,000 feet away to a new apartment, they didn't even have to drive that far, and yet I was charged a $50 fee for that 1,000 foot drive -A total scam. To further compound the issues, several of my items, including glassware and ceramics, were damaged during the move. I chose to dispose of these items myself to avoid the further inconvenience of scheduling a damage assessment with the company, given their demonstrated lack of professionalism. This ordeal has left me with the impression of unprofessional and potentially deceitful behavior on their part. I strongly advise anyone considering Family Movers to review all contractual details carefully and to prepare for the possibility of needing to replace damaged belongings, as their handling can be less than careful and they could care less about your belongings. **To follow up, you'd think that an owner of a business would want to keep their clients, and would do anything to make it right. But not Aaron. Just look at the comment he leaves me. As if to say, "Zero F's given, we don't care. We got your money, screw you lady." That is the treatment you can expect. Good luck with this company."
